Join the XR Collaboratory this October for Cornell’s first-ever XR Retreat, featuring a full day of presentations, discussions, and networking. All faculty, researchers, and students at Cornell whose work touches the XR space are invited to attend.

When: October 14, 2022, 9AM-5PM ET

Where: Tata Innovation Center, Cornell Tech

Public Health Notice: We encourage you to wear a mask or other face covering during the event. We will have masks available at the check-in desk. Specifically, as indoor conditions and individuals’ vulnerabilities vary markedly, we ask event attendees to respect requests from other attendees to wear a mask when indoors.

Featured Speakers

  • We encourage students, postdocs, and other researchers to submit posters and demos for presentation at the retreat. Previously published work and work-in-progress are welcome. If you would like to submit a poster or demo to be presented, please complete this form by Friday, September 30.

    The number of submissions that will be accepted will depend on available space in our event area. The organizers will contact you after the submission deadline to confirm whether we can accept your presentation.

  • Welcoming remarks and lightning talks will be streamed via Zoom for attendees who are not able to come to Cornell Tech’s campus in person. We are not able to make breakouts and poster sessions available remotely. We encourage those who can attend in person to do so.

    Zoom links will be emailed to remote participants in advance of the event. You will need to log into Zoom with your cornell.edu or med.cornell.edu email address in order to view.

  • The deadline for requesting travel support has passed, and we have allocated resources to those who applied.

    Within NYC

    By Subway: Take the F train to the Roosevelt Island stop. Walk south .3 miles on W Road.

    By Tram: Catch the Tram at 59th street and 2nd Avenue. Campus is just south of the Queensboro bridge station.

    By Ferry: The Astoria route of NYC Ferry will connect you to a landing just east of campus. Here’s the latest route and schedule.

    By Bike: Access Roosevelt Island by bike via the Roosevelt Island Bridge from 36th Street in Queens, then ride south on Main Street.

    By Bus: The Q102 bus connects Roosevelt Island to Long Island City and Astoria in Queens. Visit mta.info for updated bus schedules.

    By Car: Access Roosevelt Island by car via the Roosevelt Island Bridge from 36th Street in Queens, then park in the Motorgate garage and take the free Red Bus to campus. Parking is not available on campus.
